It is traditional on Shavuot to offer up the first fruits of the harvest. Our version of this tradition this year is to collect non-perishable foods to donate to the Food 4 Thought Initiative.
Their most needed items are: peanut butter, beef sticks, canned protein (eg: tuna, chicken), canned entrees (chili, stew, hearty soups w/protein, spaghetti, ravioli), boxed pasta dinners, canned fruit (ideally in juice), canned (no glass) tomato sauce with meat, boxed pasta dinners, microwavable mac & cheese, cereal (whole grains, low sugar preferred), snack bars with protein, shelf-stable milk, rice or spaghetti, toilet paper.
A collection bin will be in the vestibule at the parking-lot entry between 9am and 3pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, May 25-27, just before Shavuot. Please bring your items to donate during these times.
